About PSA Zeebrugge

INTRODUCTION

PSA International is active in 29 port projects, throughout 17 countries in Asia and Europe and, for some time now, in America as well. The group consists of 5 regional divisions:
• Southeast Asia
• Northeast Asia
• America
• Middle East and South Asia
• Europe and Mediterranean.

PSA International is one of the absolute world leaders in container handling. As the operator of the world's largest container terminal in Singapore, and other large-scale projects in locations such as the port of Antwerp, the group currently processes some 156,000 containers per day, which amounted to a total for 2011 of 57.09 million TEU*. The terminal in Singapore accounts for almost half of this volume.

PSA International aims to assume a prominent role in the ports that are important for international trade. The group’s portfolio is being expanded both through starting up greenfield-projects and through takeovers of existing operators. Naturally, this process involves anticipating new trends and closely following promising new economic development areas.

PSA Zeebrugge currently operates two container terminals. Container Handling Zeebrugge (CHZ) handled 737.000 TEU* in 2011. Zeebrugge International Port (ZIP) is PSA Zeebrugge's new container terminal at the Albert II dock. Operations started in Q4 2010.

PSA Zeebrugge also operates a multipurpose terminal at ZIP. This terminal handled 154.000 TEU* in 2011, aside from the breakbulk activities. Zeebrugge has experienced ever-strong growth in logistics and distribution activities over the past few years, and with the arrival of the StoraEnso forest products group it has made a further significant leap forward.

A growing number of paper producers are opting for Zeebrugge as their hub.

PSA Zeebrugge can draw upon the experience and expertise of a workforce of over 400 employees. Thanks to their hard work and motivation, PSA Zeebrugge is playing a significant part in making the group’s slogan a reality ‘PSA, The World’s Port of Call’.
