ZODIAC starts on 13 Feb 2012
13 Feb 2012 will be the start-up date of a new regular container rail shuttle from Zeebrugge to Dourges in Northern France (Lille Area).
The service will connect the Zeebrugge Deepsea Terminals (starting with CHZ, APMT and P&O) with the trimodal platform Delta 3 in Dourges.
There will be three services per week in each direction (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Transit time is two hours. The service will focus on deepsea and shortsea containers. Trains carry approximately 80 TEU in each direction.
Dourges is strategically located in a European distribution and industrial region, at the priority axis Lille-Paris.
The train shuttle is an initiative of PortConnect (subsidiary of MBZ), PSA Zeebrugge, APM Terminals, Inter Ferry Boats and Naviland Cargo.
Inquiries and Bookings and inquiries can be made via
• IFB - Luc Van Impe, luc.van.impe@interferryboats.be, TEL. +32 3 270 27 11
• Naviland Cargo - Boudewijn Van Thillo, bvanthillo@naviland-cargo.com, TEL+32 497 50 16 96
The shuttle train is a multi-user service, open to all shippers, forwarders and shipping lines. Pricing will be very competitive, with a clear objective to move cargo from the road onto the train.
Bookings are possible as FOT (Free to Truck) at Delta 3 or door-to-door within the Dourges logistics area.
The start-up of the new train connection fits perfectly into the hinterland strategy of the Zeebrugge port, which aims to “follow the cargo”.
