Baltic Enabler in Zeebrugge
On November 2nd, WALLENIUS SOL christened the ‘Baltic Enabler’ at our terminal in Zeebrugge. It was PSA Zeebrugge's first christening in more than twenty years of existence... talk about a big day!
Under a beautiful blue sky, accompanied by loud drumming and trumpeting from the local brass band, the VIP guests, press, and our colleagues were welcomed into the ship's hold. Afterwards, a few enthusiastic crew members gave the guests a fascinating tour.
With a length of 242 meters, a width of 35.2 meters, and a deadweight of 28,000 tons, the 'Baltic Enabler' and its sister ship, the 'Botnia Enabler', are considered the world's largest ice-class CONRO vessels with multi-fuel operation. Both ships will be incorporated into regular liner traffic. They will call at our terminals in Zeebrugge and Antwerp on a weekly basis on their way to Northern Europe.
